NONDOI BELIAN TRADITIONAL CULTURE AS A PRESERVATION OF SOCIAL VALUES OF LOCAL CULTURE IN PENAJAM PASER UTARA DISTRICT

Abstract

Culture is a habit or behavior of a society. Culture emerged from generation to generation and is still ongoing today. One of the cultures that is still running today is the traditional Belian Nondoi ceremony in Penajam Paser Utara Regency. The development of an advanced era has made the existing social and cultural values start to fade and be eroded. The traditional Belian Nondoi ceremony is a medium for preserving local social and cultural values in Penajam Paser Utara Regency. Sociologically, the implementation of the Belian Nondoi traditional ceremony gives the meaning of unifying the community. The ceremony illustrates the socio-cultural values that are upheld by the community. Through the implementation of the ceremony, the community indirectly gets a message about the importance of maintaining noble values as a socio-cultural value system
